Lip Sync Competition Rules + Guidelines

To Enter

Lipsync Contest sign ups will be online only and will end Friday November 14th 2025 at 8pm Central or when available slots are filled. Up to 15 participants will be accepted.

General Guidelines

  • All contestants must have an Omnicon 2025 badge.

  • There will be no actual singing on stage, this is a lip sync competition so be sure to bring your A game to impress the crowd and the judges! The judges will be given your forms, and will judge your performance based on certain criteria. This includes how well you connected the character to your song, your stage performance, audience interaction, your actual lip sync ability, and all over execution.

  • Music must be sent to us beforehand and be no longer than 3 minutes in length (give or take a few seconds).

    • FILES WE CAN ACCEPT: MP3  format is preferred but a Youtube link is also accepted (as we will download a local MP3 of the file). No phones, cds, or ipods will be accepted.

    • Please be advised that the quality of your music is solely based upon the file that you send to us. YouTube links, while convenient, can be used in a pinch but please.

    • You will have a chance to change your music up to Friday November 14th 2025. After this point we will not be able to change your stage music.

  • This is an all ages event! Your music must be an edited version if it contains strong lyrics. Please keep this in mind before choosing your song. This also means no overly sensual or violent dance moves. We reserve the right to deny any song that would not be appropriate for the stage or stop a performance if it is deemed inappropriate.

  • Please note that all song and character choices are on a first come, first served basis. We will not allow repeat songs or characters, so be sure to sign up early, send us your music, and confirm your spot.

  • Contestants must show up 30 minutes before the contest time so we can check everything and get you set up. We will line everyone up and give another run down of the official rules and answer any questions you may have. You will be emailed this information a little closer to the date of the event.

  • Everything you bring on stage MUST LEAVE WITH YOU. Please do not spread glitter, confetti, sticky substances, or anything else that might make a mess or be difficult to clear from the stage. No flash bombs, fire effects, projectiles, or anything of this nature are allowed on stage.

  • For safety reasons, you will not be able to jump or run off of the stage during your performance. We reserve the right to end a performance early if there is a risk of performer injury.

  • If at any point you are not able to perform in the show, we ask that you let the Omnicon team know ASAP via Facebook, Instagram, or at guests.omnicon@gmail.com. If you are a no-call no-show to the event after confirming your spot, you will be disqualified from competing in the following year.
